Summary:	Parallel investigations of four groups of organisms - diatoms, vascular plants, insects and fishes are proposed for the Late Eocene - Late Oligocene time interval in the Ceske Stfedohofi Mountains volcanic complex in northern Bohemia. Indication value of fossil communities for reconstruction of environment will be confronted for each group to gain better understanding of the environmental changes and landscape development in the late geological history of the Earth under intensive volcanic activitv.
