|Summary:||Cyanobacteria belong to the most important microorganisms in the world ecosystems. Modern study of their diversity is based on the polyphasic approach, i.e., the first identification is based on molecular analyses and the results are combined with morphological, ecological and biochemical markers. The identification of autapomorphic phenotype markers is most important for later application. The family Oscillatoriaceae contains ecologically important species, used in hydrotechnology and in different fields of applied biotechnology. However, up to now, only less than 10% of important genotypes were identified and revised according to progressive methods. The main goal of the project is collection and isolation of the main part of the oscillatoriacean types, their transfer into the monospecific cultures, and the study of their phylogenetic relations, morphological and ecological variability and possibility to use the results for water management purposes.|
