Summary: The projects aims at comparing the dominant species´effects on diversity in both native and invaded ranges of the dominant species. We use both comparative and experimental approach to compare i) the coexistence of species with the dominant species in its native and invaded range, ii) the resilience of communities following the dominant´s removal in its native and invaded range and iii) the invasive vs native dominant´s impact on diversity and composition of symbiotic mycorrhizal fungi. We use a set of species native to Eurasia and invasive to North America and vice versa (native to North America and invasive to Eurasia) to test our hypotheses. Plots for the comparative study as well as for the removal experiment are located in central Europe and North America.
