I discovered my passion for botany during my Higher National Diploma in landscaping. More interested in the plants themselves than in using them to design gardens, I decided to pursue a bachelor’s degree to gain general knowledge in biology and ecology. After graduating, I was unsure whether to continue in research or become a gardener. I needed to do internships to gain insight and help make up my mind.
I had the opportunity to join this department and work on various projects, mainly related to climate change, focusing on how plants react under different conditions and what the consequences are for their anatomy and physiology. In the end, this internship gave me the answer I was looking for and even more: I will try to pursue a career in research and eventually specialize in seed biology.
