I am a Ph.D. student in botany at the Faculty of Science, Charles University. My research aims to investigate the ecological function and evolutionary role of transposable elements (TEs) and DNA methylation in the transgenerational effects and adaptation of clonal and sexual offspring of Fragaria vesca (wild strawberry).
For this purpose, I plan to study environmentally controlled TEs in natural populations of Fragaria vesca from distinct climatic regions, as well as to experimentally assess the impact of selected biotic and abiotic stressors on TE activation, epigenetic variation, and their roles in transgenerational effects.
