Summary:	The aim of this study was to bridge problems included in classical conservation monitoring of rare species and classic barrier between basic research done at universities and practical nature conservation and to establish an experiment which brings detailed information about critical stages of life cycle, ecology and habitat requirements of hemiparasite Thesium species. Simultaneously we wanted to bring an view into ecology of these hemiparasite species, the knowledge about which are quite limited. We came into contact with many people in practical nature conservation not only in the Czech Republic but also abroad. We tested methods and establish experiments for study of 4 Thesium species which bring important information not only for rare species conservation.
