Summary: To shed light on dark diversity, we aim at (i) comparing different techniques to estimate the species pool for a site, which choice remains vague; and (ii) relating plant observed and dark diversities across spatial scales to understand processes regulating biodiversity (competition, environmental altering and dispersal limitation). To achieve this, large available datasets on different meadows are going to be analyzed using a new framework based on plant functional traits, and complemented by targeted eld samplings.
