The aim of the project is to develop nature-friendly measures that will allow the functional use of mineral springs (MS) by people, while respecting and supporting their natural values. The current degraded state of many springs does not fulfill either of these functions or favors only one of them. A comprehensive study combining monitoring of MS biota and associated wetlands and their species composition over time will describe the diversity of the flagship organisms of MS - diatoms. The experimental part of the research will focus on testing suitable materials and technical solutions to be used in the design of revitalization measures. The outcome of the project will be a methodology for protection, management, and revitalization of MS habitat.
