Summary: The main goal is to determine the driving role of interactions between plants, soil resources and microbiota in dry grassland stability. For this, we will connect plant species density-dependent self-limitation processes to rhizosphere and root microbiomes to extract the specific players associated with decreasing plant performance. Moreover, we will test the heritability of soil microbiomes from an adult plant to the next generation of seedlings and determine how these microbiome communities determine plant competitive outcome.
