Summary: The issue of revitalization beech ecosystems in imission-affected regions is still actual, not only in the Central Europe but a large part of the distribution area of beech. Negative effects of environment to growth conditions and thus to stand damage it depend on a number of tree disposition characteristics as well as from synecological relations in the forest according to which the beech ecosystems are led by. From these reasons it is very important to clarify revitalization processes in forest ecosystems after removed the source of pollution was. And this will be the main objective of our project. Discovering and characterization of revitalization process in respective forest elements is a pioneer work. Results coming from this work would represent a basic concept for prediction of forest development in man-affected environment. Since forests are the most complex terrestrial ecosystems, the uniqueness of this project lies in combination of ecologal, physiological, botanical and mycological research approaches with application of recent methodology in the Carpatian /Hercynian area
