Summary: The proposed study aims to extend knowledge about the natural spread of woody species in the landscape. Studies dealing with these issues are often limited by intensive field survey methodology and mapping with GPS, on the landscape level it is possible by use of aerial photographs, but it does not offer enough information to distinguish different species. The presented method uses modern satellite images with high resolution, including the near infrared spectrum, which helps help to distinguish different species, classified from aerial photographs.
