Šurinová Mária

Researcher until 2022

I am a molecular biologist and I have 2 roles in our group.
In my first role, as a researcher, I am mainly interested in gene expression analysis and characterization and dynamics of a wide spectrum of gene expression regulations. Using RNA seq, we build Vicia cracca reference transcriptome and we compare transcriptome profiles of 3 ploidy levels accompanied with microRNA, lncRNA profiling. In the second project, by using cDNA capture seq we correlate photoprotective and photosynthetic genes expression levels with an activity of enzymes coded by these genes.
In my second role, as a methodologist, I implement standard methods or establish new protocols for a wide range of our research topics. I covered “classic” methods like genotyping by using microsatellites, transposons and phylogeny markers optimization, but I am mainly focused on NGS methods: WGS, exome capture seq, nextRAD.
