Silvie graduated in Auxiliary Historical Sciences at Masaryk University in Brno. Since 2012, she has been working at the Department of Vegetation Ecology of the Institute of Botany of the Czech Academy of Sciences in Brno, where she deals with historical ecology, especially the development of forests from the Middle Ages to the present day, forest management and forest damage caused by environmental impacts.
