I study the belowground organs of plant, their traits and contents, and how these traits pertain to storage, disturbance and stress response/avoidance, resprouting and perennation, and movement within the soil. My work primarily focuses on the strategies of herbaceous perennial plants in temperate ecosystems, involving in a variety of species and environmental gradients. I also integrate my background in arts for science communication and outreach purposes.

Expertise:
Belowground storage organs
