Generally, I am interested in plant adaptations to peat bogs, shallow water, and frost. During my Ph.D. thesis, I studied water relations of a sub endemic tree species (Pinus rotundata) growing on peat bogs, then I shortly mowed towards the ecology of páramo plants. Recently I am back in central European peat bogs and fishponds working on projects focused on the restoration of industrially extracted peat bogs and rescue programs for endangered aquatic and wetland plants such as Littorella uniflora, Nuphar pumila, Potamogeton praelongus, or Sedum villosum.
