I study the plant traits associated with clonality and belowground bud bank and their importance for plant strategies in plant communities. I focus closer on the lateral spread, persistence and anatomical structure of belowground storage organs, using the CLO-PLA database, as well as plants collected in natural communities. My other interest is to investigate the phenomenon of the formation of adventitious buds on plant roots as a way of clonal growth.
Expertise
Morphology of plant belowground organs, plant strategies, clonality, resprouting ability from adventitious buds on roots, plant traits
