Summary: |
This project aims to investigate the following aspects of plant cold acclimation: (1) The impact of climate change on plants' capacity to acclimate to cold, with a focus on the relative roles of phenotypic plasticity and genetic differentiation in this process, (2) The influence of plant-associated soil microbiota and their interactions with climate on cold acclimation, (3) The effects of irregular cold-warm cycles on plant fitness and the role of microbiota in helping plants cope with these fluctuations, and (4) The potential for plants to exhibit transgenerational memory for cold acclimation, and whether this memory is mediated by microbiota. |
