Researchers created unique forest microclimate maps

Researchers from the Institute of Botany prepared detailed maps of the forest microclimate for the territory of the Šumava National Park, the Bohemian Switzerland National Park, and the Saxon Switzerland National Park. Compared to climate data used so far, new maps include information on important local effects. They provide park authorities with a much more accurate basis for the protection of endangered species and forest ecosystems themselves, as site-specific temperature and humidity conditions have a major influence on the prosperity of plants in the habitat.
