I am interested in why (not) and how plant diversity originates, establishes and keeps maintained in natural populations and across lineages. In my research team we work on various drivers of plant diversification. We decipher modes of plant speciation and adaptation. The model systems of our research are radiating plant groups of various age. We test our hypotheses using genomic methods, which we combine with datasets from cytogenetics and ecology.
