Lab technician – research assistant (f/m), Laboratory of Molecular Cytogenetics and Karyology

The Institute of Botany is opening a part-time research assistant position in the Laboratory of molecular cytogenetic and karyology at the Institute´s Průhonice Research Division.

The position is available within the ongoing research project “Repeatome evolution in plant allopolyploids: An outcome from the diploid-polyploid complex of the Chenopodium album aggregate” (Czech Science Foundation, 20-20286S).

Your responsibilities and duties will include:

  • routine application of cytogenetic methods on Chenopodium species, chromosome counting and preparation for fluorescent in situ hybridization


We require:

  • experience working with Chenopodium karyology and cytogenetics
  • PC skills: Photoshop, Word, Excel, Outlook
  • university education in relevant fields (master’s degree at least)
  • active English
  • reliability, diligence and responsibility for work results, good communication skills, and motivation for teamwork
  • flexibility and willingness to improve your expertise
