Summary: The general aim is study of various structural characteristics and dynamics of selected vegetation types (eg. floristic composition, plant diversity, spatial and age structure, competition, secondary succession, gap dynamics) in south parth of the Korean peninsula. The project continues in the previous work in forests and other types in both northern and southern parts of Korean peninsula and other regions of NE Asia. The main specific goals are the following: (1) study of spatial and temporal changes of alpine vegetation on the island Cheju and (2) study of secondary succession in selected parts of river Nakdong.
