Summary: The aim of the project is to compare the communities of arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi in serpentine and non-serpentine soils in terms of their diversity and presence of different phylogenetic lineages. The process of detection and determination of AM fungi colonizing roots of the model plant species (Knautia arvensis) is based on molecular analyses. A potential influence of soil chemical properties on the AMF community structure and diversity will be also tested.
